This time, though, we caught the "Don't be Evil" guys with their own hand in the cookie jar. We've all heard the horror stories of the AdSense Policy team.

In case nothing jumps out at you, placing ads on top of content is a strict no-no in the AdSense Program Policies.Ok...well maybe this is just a browser issue. After all, nothing every loads properly on Internet Explorer. But on closer, inspection, we see that this is happening on Google's very own browser: Chrome!

Google again manages to violate their own Policies by serving ads on a page about gambling. Here are the official guidelines:
Policies by serving ads on a page about gambling

Ok, but who cares if this is happening on a few random pages on a service that Google has already shut down?
Sure enough, it isn’t a few random pages. It turns out that more than 190,000 pages are in egregious violation of Google’s policies.

If that’s not enough, check out the ads that Google has the stomach to serve on other pages:

Grow Your Adsense Income

Maybe you’ve had your own “Aha” moment with Google Adsense.I had mine earlier this year when I realized I could make more than just pocket change by featuring those now familiar ad blocks on my websites. I had worked hard building my content oriented niche sites and had expected to make decent affiliate income—which never materialized.
Piggy Bank

You see, most people online (including you and me), are looking for information. I call them “lookey-loos.” They want to gather information before making a purchasing decision. This is normal behavior. However, if you are looking to earn or make online money via a web site affiliate program, you’ll quickly realize that it takes a lot more than slapping banner ads and links on your site.

Although, I’ve made a modest amount of affiliate income, it didn’t seem enough to make it worth my while, in spite of what the affiliate marketing ebook gurus said. That’s the point where I decided to put Adsense on my sites. Got nothing to lose, right?

At first I was like “Cool. A few pennies a day in the piggy bank.” I didn’t have to do anything extra for it, so it was kind of an easy way to make some “spare change.” I didn’t care how much I made each day. Anything was better than looking at a big fat zero.

Then something changed. The money accumulating in my Adsense account began to grow. Hmmm. Maybe there’s something more to this Google Adsense thing than I realized. Adsense seemed like a pretty decent opportunity to make money online.

This is when I got serious about the potential to make money with Google Adsense. I know I’m just one of thousands of website publishers that has recently discovered that this is one of several ways to make extra money.

So here many of us sit, anxiously checking our stats to see how much money we’ve made today. What is our CTR (click through rate)? How much are we getting paid per click? And so forth.

While we all hear the tales about those making thousands per day or month with Adsense, most of us web publishers, here in the trenches, are not blessed with having a gazillion visitors that produce big fat checks. We are trying to steadily grow our modest Adsense income fairly and honestly.

But what is the secret to doing that?

**WARNING: If you’re interested in information on how to make lots of money quick and easy using black hat techniques or using SPAM website generators, you can stop reading now**

I believe that slow and steady wins the race—and, you’ll get to keep your Adsense account for the long run. Let me give you some perspective. Google is worth $120 billion. Google stock is now valued at over $400 per share. A good portion of their profit comes from pay-per-click advertising (Adwords). Yet, online advertising is still a relatively small percentage of total (U.S.) advertising dollars spent. However, things are rapidly changing. Online advertising will see steady growth for many years to come.

The potential windfall for online web publishers is enormous. A web publisher making $30 a month today, could be making $300-$500 per day in a few short years. Those who go for the quick, unethical profits now, but lose their Adsense accounts because of it, may be kicking themselves in the future. To me, it’s just not worth it.

Anyway, for those of you who think that you’ll never make it to that coveted $100 per month mark so that you can join the Google monthly check club, take heart. There’s still plenty of time for you to get there. However, you must get serious. You won’t make the big money if you’re treating your websites like a hobby.

Ok. So, here’s some quick tips on what you can do to grow your Adsense profits (I’m currently making over $300 per month with Adsense by following this very strategy):

***BUILD QUALITY CONTENT SITES***

Content is King.
Content is King.

You will not see good CTR without quality content. Put yourself in the visitor’s shoes. What’s the first thing you’ll want to do when you visit a crap website? Yeah, that’s right. Leave. Some web publishers believe that quality content doesn’t matter. That people will be less likely to click if they get good information at a site. This is not my experience. Some also believe that a crappy content site will cause visitors to click on Adsense ads to “escape” a bad site. I think this is B.S. When’s the last time you clicked on an ad to escape someone’s site? It’s too easy to hit the “back” button or close the browser.

Your job as an online web publisher is to give people quality information. The ads are an added benefit to your visitors. If they want more information on a product or service related to your subject matter, then they are more likely to click on an ad. They will trust your site more. And, yes, my sites consistently have really good CTR. That means “high interest.”

***BUILD MORE THAN ONE WEBSITE***

While a few lucky web publishers have hit the golden jackpot ($10,000 a month and up) with only one site, most of them had built up a very popular site over several years and already had tons of steady traffic (in the thousands). When they put Adsense on their sites, they saw instant big money, and they continue to reap the rewards.

You and I, down here in the trenches with fairly new sites, cannot realistically expect to achieve these lofty heights overnight. It’s gonna take a lot of work to get where they are, if we ever do. Even if we don’t, we can still make a nice enough income to achieve our desired financial goals. So quit obsessing over what so and so is making and focus on your own web publishing business.

Now the truth is, the more quality websites you build, the more money you’ll make with Adsense. This goes for blogs too. If one site drops in clicks, then another site often picks up the slack. This is my experience. And these sites don’t have to be big money makers on their own, or get lots of traffic. It’s a numbers game. The more sites you build, the more opportunities you’ll have to reap Adsense profits. How many sites you build is up to you, but it’s not uncommon for successful web publishers to have between two and 10 sites, some have many more!

Yes, this takes a lot of work. You have to research a niche topic, keywords, popularity potential, design a decent looking site, write or hire someone to write quality content, get your site listed in the search engines, keep monitoring your site, etc. So, you’ll be working some long hours in front of your computer. But think of it as building your online empire—one site at a time.

***USE HIGHEST PERFORMING AD BLOCK***

While you can test various Adsense ad block sizes and colors on your website, others have already done the research as to the top performing ad block. It’s the 300x250 rectangle. This block should be blended into your web page so that it doesn’t look so conspicuously like an ad. People hate ads. They don’t like to be sold to. However, if your ad blocks don’t scream “advertisement” to them, they’re more likely to click. This has been proven.

The best positioning for ad blocks is at the top of the page (center position seems to get more clicks). Also, blue link color gets more clicks than any other link colors. But of course, you’re free to experiment with ad blocks on your own site. You can find How to put Adsense ads on Blogger/Blogspot

***TWEAK AND UPDATE YOUR WEBSITES***

No website is perfect. You can always make improvements. Change or add new (relevant) information. If your website is ranking low, try adding new information. Search engines love websites that have fresh information. You don’t have to add something new every week, but you can tweak and update your sites periodically. I’ve had sites move into excellent search engine positions just by doing a little tweaking.

BEWARE of auto-generated feeds and content. Google is cracking down on sites that have too much automation. The search engines seem to love organic content that looks and reads like the web publisher put some personal effort into it.

***WORK ON GETTING MORE TRAFFIC***

I know. This is the 100-pound gorilla for all of us. By now you know it’s not easy getting web site traffic. Whole ebook empires have been built around this very subject. All I can tell you is that there are some proven techniques, but they take work and time. One of the best ways, and the method I use consistently to get great results is writing articles like this one, and submitting them to article directories and lists. It’s also a nice way to get new sites indexed relatively quickly.

You MUST keep working on getting more traffic to your websites. Traffic=Clicks=$$$

I know it can be frustrating when your site traffic is in the single digit per day category. Look at it this way, there’s nowhere else to go but UP.

***KEEP LEARNING***

An important KEY to increasing your Google Adsense profits is to learn as much as you can about the business of making money online with your website. Knowledge is power. There are plenty of generous people online offering free advice on how you can improve your Adsense income.

I wouldn’t be where I am now without taking full advantage of free and paid resources. Remember, you’re not alone. There are lots of folks going through the same thing that you are. If you are open to learning, you CAN move forward towards reaching your income goals with Google Adsense.

***SET GOALS***

If you made $30 this month, set a goal to make $40 or $50 next month. If you made $80 this month, set a goal to make $100 next month. Having a monthly goal is a great way to stay motivated while you work on your website business. Trust me, I know. My first month with Adsense I earned a whopping $32.46. It took several months for me to make it into the monthly check club. However, with steady work, and determination to increase my Adsense income, that check has grown bigger every month.

***HAVE RESPECT FOR ADWORDS ADVERTISERS***

Adwords advertisers respect web publishers who understand that the reason they allow their ads to show up on your website pages is so that you can help bring them quality prospects. Adwords advertisers are looking for a decent return on investment (ROI) for their Adwords dollars. They don’t have to run their ads on the content network. Google makes it easy for them to turn that option off—and many do.

So, keep in mind that it’s in YOUR best interest to keep the Adwords advertiser’s best interest in mind when you build your websites. Advertisers want to see profits just like we do. They want some of those clicks to produce sales. If they don’t make enough sales, they will quit using Adwords. That leads to less money for web publishers.

There are some greedy, opportunistic web publishers out there who only care about filling their pockets with quick cash. They don’t care about how much money their SPAM pages cost advertisers when they send unqualified, or barely interested visitors, clicking onto the advertiser’s site. Poor quality website traffic may make some web publishers a tidy sum, but they risk being downgraded eventually by Adwords advertisers and Google itself. Google is giving their Adwords advertisers more tools to track clicks and sales conversions.

Trust me, you want to be on the good list of web publishers that can be trusted by Adwords advertisers to consistently bring them qualified visitors. That’s what they are paying for. And, quit crying over low paying clicks. Google and their advertisers don’t owe you a living. If you want to make more Adsense money, then you’ll have to work smarter and harder.

***BE PATIENT BUT PERSISTENT***

While Google Adsense is a great way to earn or make online money, it’s definitely not a get-rich-quick scheme. It’ll take months, maybe even a couple of years before you realize those big check dreams. Meanwhile, keep doing a little bit here and there to build a solid online business.

Actually, what we really do is provide a needed service to people—we provide quality information to help them find what they’re looking for quickly and easily. We help the “looky-loos” save time and money. We are information providers extraordinaire!

What a great way to make a living.

15 Great Google AdSense tips to earn money

Google AdSense Tip #1: Find your keywords
Before serving ads on a web page, check its keyword density. A free and advanced tool for finding the most prominent keywords in a page can be found here: SEO Density Analyzer. Copy the most important keywords to a text file ([web page name]-Google AdSense-keywords.txt).
AdSense tips

Google AdSense Tip #2: Improve your keywords
Get keyword suggestions from Overture Search Inventory and from Google AdWords Sandbox. Get new keywords that can help you improve your ad relevance. Enter the keywords from [web page name]-Google AdSense-keywords.txt and save the suggestions to [web page name]-Google AdSense-suggestions.txt.

Google AdSense Tip #3: Keep your website focused on a themeUse the keyword suggestions to enhance your web pages and to build theme-based content. And also try to get your keywords into the anchor text of your incoming links as much as possible. Don't forget that Google Google AdSense is keyword-targeted advertising: Google Google AdSense bases its advert topics on your websites content, this means that content-rich websites of a popular topic should attract a large amount of ads.

Google AdSense Tip #4: Write a new page every day
One of the best tips is to add a new page to your web site every day. The more content you have, the more visitors you will get. Put an Google AdSense unit on each and every content page of your site. But where? You will find more about that from the next Google AdSense tips.

Google AdSense Tip #5: Choose the right Google AdSense format
Wider formats are successful because the ads are compact, easy to read and are complementary to the content. The top three Google AdSense formats are:

336x280 large rectangle

300x250 medium rectangle

160x600 wide skyscraper

Another successful format is the 468x15 horizontal ad links, that can be placed under your navigation bar.

Google AdSense Tip #6: Color tips
When creating your Google Google AdSense ads it is recommended to use the color scheme and style of your website so that the ads blend in well. Ads without background color and borders perfom better than ads within borders with background color.

Create a custom Google AdSense palette:

border color = background color of your web site

background color = background color of your web site

link color = blue, color of your links

url color = black, #999999

text color = black, #333333, color of your main content

You can also rotate your color palette: select multiple color palettes that blend with your site to create variety.

Google AdSense Tip #7: Position tips
Visitors tend to look at the big headlines to see if your page is worth reading. If you get them interested, they will read the text and look for your navigation links.

Place the Google AdSense ads in a prominent place around the top/left part of your page or under your headlines, where your visitors are most likely to look at.

If you have an article page with a long body of text, the bottom of that article is a good place for Google AdSense ads because your visitors read the text and then they want more resources.

Google AdSense Tip #8: Increase the number of ads
If you have a lot of text on a page, use multiple Google AdSense units. You can use up to three Google AdSense units on a page, two Google AdSense search boxes and one unit of ad links.

Link units allow the user to refine what they're interested in. So if they may not be interested in specific ads on your page, they might be interested in a particular topic, and by clicking on a link unit and a link in the link unit, they'll be able to specify that they're interested in that specific topic and get a lot more options and variety on the ads that might appear.

Google AdSense for Search allows visitors to search Google.com or your sites (up to 3 domains). You earn money whenever they click on the ads that come up on the search results. If you click the Open search results in a new browser window checkbox in the Google AdSense for Search settings, you won't lose your visitors.

Google AdSense Tip #9: Preview Google ads
You can find out what ads will be served by Google Google AdSense if you install Google Google AdSense Preview Tool, a very simple tool available only for Internet Explorer 6.0. Click to advertiser sites without generating invalid clicks, and easily add their URLs to your URL filter list. Because Google AdSense uses geo-targeting, Google serves different ads for other countries. Instead of faking your IP or travelling abroad to test your ads, use this Google AdSense tool to see what ads see your visitors from France, Germany or other countries.

It's possible there are no Google Google AdSense adverts available for your webpage. Hide Public Service Ads, using alternate colors or images. Make sure you include the image in a simple html file as a link (use target="_top"). The image size should be the same as the dimension of Google AdSense units. In the alternate url box, enter the absolute url of the html file.

Read more about alternate ads.

Google AdSense Tip #10: What not to do
Don't click your own ads

Don't ask others to click on your Google ads

Don't manually change Google AdSense code

Don't place Google ads on sites that include prohibited content (e.g.: adult sites)

Don't employ cloaking, hidden text or farm links

Don't use Google AdSense ads on the same page with similar ads (e.g.: Yahoo Publisher Network)

Google AdSense Tip #11: Show images above or next to your ads
Placing images above Google AdSense ads is not necessarily prohibited by program policies. However, depending on the method of implementation this could be considered encouraging users to click on ads. So you should include a border line between the ads and the images. Don't show specific products in your images, in order not to mislead the visitors. Just use generic images that will increase the visibility of your ads.

Google AdSense Tip #12: Use section targeting
Use section targeting to emphasize some content in your page. On your site, place this code where you want to emphasize.

Content you want to emphasize.

If you want some content to be ignored, use

Google AdSense Tip #13: Alternate the colors of your ads
Google AdSense allows you to have up to 4 color variations for each variable for which you can specify color. You should do that if you put Google AdSense ads on pages that receive many impressions from the same visitors (for example forums) to reduce ad blindness. For example:

google_color_border = ["628098","628098","000000","000000"];

google_color_link = ["000000","BBB90C","BBB90C","628098"];

google_color_url = ["000000","628098","000000","000000"];

google_color_text = ["628098","628098","000000","000000"];

Great for overcoming ad blindness.

Google AdSense Tip #14: Your Google ads should be visibleMake sure your text ads are visible to the surfers in all screen formats. If you put the ads in a table give sufficient breathing room, i.e. proper cell padding and cell spacing to make the ads stand out from the rest of your content.

Google AdSense Tip #15: Use Google AdSense channels
You can categorize the content of your website into channels and then track your performance. This way you can experiment with different types of ads and see which is performing the best. Instead of buying an Google AdSense tracker, you can enter the most important pages in your site and see how they are doing. Create up to 200 channels for Google AdSense.

Tips To Avoid Your Google Adsense Account From Getting Banned

Avoid
As many of you already know, Google Adsense is the most popular and most generous advertisment service from Google that gives you recurring income. However, some people don't bother to read the Adsense policies and they usually violate AdSense Terms and conditions without knowing, as a result they wake up with their accounts disabled. Many times fraud clicks are the main cause. But there could be many other reasons for an Adsense account to be disabled. So, if you want to keep your Google Adsense account safe, please read and keep in mind the following rules:

 1. Never use adult, violent or advocating racial intolerance content on your site.
 2. Never copy paste any article from any other website. Google can easily find out which one is original.
 3. Never click on your own ads. Google can analyze all the clicks made on your ad units.
 4. Never place above your Adsense ad units texts like "Click on ad below", "Please click below" etc. instead you can use label headings as "sponsored links" or "advertisements".
 5. Never say your friends to click on your ads on social networking websites like Facebook
 6. Don't put unwanted links, pop-ups on your website. Keep interface quite neat and clean with proper navigation and all. Google also looks for the quality standard of websites.
 7. You must have a privacy policy page which must contain a description about the use of Google AdSense on your website. This is the latest policy introduced by Google. Many webmasters don't know about it which results in their account getting banned.
 8. Hide Adsense ad units from Contact and Privacy Policy page .Place ads only on Content Pages. Advertisers pay only for content based ads.
 9. Never display Adsense ads in floating boxes with images or texts that could overlap or cover the ads. However, you can use floating text, images on your website under the condition they don't play with your Adsense ads.
 10. Never place more than 3 ad units and 3 ad links or 2 adsense search boxes on any web page.
 11. Do not confuse with adjacent images - It was a common policy to increase CTR by placing same number of images as the number of text ads, which falsely gave the impression that the text ads represented an explanation to these images. Inserting a small space or a line between the images and ads is not allowed. Make sure that the ads and images are not arranged in a way that could easily mislead or confuse your visitors.
 12. Do not send your Google adsense ads code to anyone.
 13. Never place your Google ads any unit under any drop down menu, if you do so you are Violate Google Adsense TOS.
 14. Never place Adsense ads on empty pages (pages with no content), pop-up pages, error pages, contact forms or registration pages.
These rules are the minimum requirements for maintaining a proper and healthy Adsense account.
Whenever when needed, it is better to ask for adsense help from the learned staff of Google Adsense. At least you'll get authorized and very helpful tips from them! Good luck and be wise ;)

Add Google Adsense to Blogger Header (Above the Title)

Above the Title

In the past tutorials ( See: Adsense inside Blogger Header ) i've shared several tricks for Adsense ads placement that may help you to increase your adsense earnings. Now, i will show you how to add Google Adsense above your header, for instance just above the title of your Blogger blog. This can be done by adjusting your template to give you the option of adding more than one widget to the header area.

Add a new element to Blogger header

1. If you are using the old Blogger interface:

 • Go to Dashboard - Design - Edit HTML - (make a backup) Expand Widget Template

If you are using the new Blogger interface:

 • Go to Dashboard - Template - Edit HTML - Proceed - (make a backup) Expand Widget Template

2. Next try to find (CTRL + F) this piece of code:

...if you can't find that one, search for this one:

3. Immediately after one of these lines, you'll see this code:

<b:section class='header' id='header' maxwidgets='1' showaddelement='no'>

4. Replace the values in red like in this example below:

<b:section class='header' id='header' maxwidgets='3' showaddelement='yes'>

5. Save the Template.

Adding the Adsense ad unit above the Blogger header

1. Navigate to Design > Page Elements and view the new option to add a gadget to the header area

Navigate

2. Click on Add a Gadget link and select the Google Adsense gadget.

Choose the type of ad unit you want. For this example I chose a new linked 728x15 ad unit from the dropdown format menu for an AdSense ad that would sit above the blog title. Configure colors if necessary. Color blending is usually done automatically by Blogger according to the color schema of your template.

3. Click Save

Now View your Blog to see your new Google Adsense unit. If all is going well, your new AdSense ad unit should appear something like in the image below:

This is a very good Adsense placement, i'm sure you're gonna like it

How to put Adsense ads on Blogger/Blogspot

Adsense Gadget

If you want to earn money from your site/blog, Google Adsense is the most popular service to monetize your blog or website content. When implemented, Adsense will display targeted Google ads on your blog and they can generate revenue on either a per-click or per-impression basis.
Of course, to display ads on your site, you should first Sign Up to Google Adsense program.

Before adding your ads, keep in mind that Adsense allows only up to 3 ad units, 3 link units and 2 search boxes per page.

In this tutorial i will show you the three ways you can add Adsense ads to your blog.

1. Adsense Gadget

Use this method to add ad unit as a widget, in places outside the blog post area. You can position it by simply dragging it in Page Elements, just like any other widget. To add the Adsense Gadget, go to:

1. Blogger Dashboard >> Design >> Page Elements >> click on the "Add a Gadget" link
2. From the pop-up window, select AdSense Gadget:

3. Configure ad format and colors.
4. Click Save and you're done.

2. Inline Ads

This will display an ad unit at the end of each post. To show ads between posts:

1. Go to Design > Page Elements and click the Edit link in Blog Posts gadget box.

Edit link in Blog Posts

2. Check the "Show Ads Between Posts" box.

Show Ads Between Posts

3. Configure ad frequency, ad format, and colors. Live preview is provided beneath the settings.
4. Click Save.

3. Adsense code

The most notable benefits of using this method are:
 • You can place ad anywhere in your blog
 • You can add the code anywhere in your blog template - in your post content or page.
 • To find out which format perform the best, custom channels will help you to track the performance of specific groups of ad units.
 • You can choose types other than ad unit i.e. link unit, search box.
To create an ad unit:
1. Go to Google Adsense website.
2. Click on My ads tab, go to Ad units and then press on the "New ad unit" button.

New ad unit

3. Choose your ad type, choose format and colors and assign channels.
4. When you have finished editing, click on the Save and get code >> button and copy the code provided.

To add an ad unit to your blog, you have the following options:

 • Paste the code in a HTML/Javascript gadget
 • Paste the code in a blog post or page, or
 • Paste the code direct in your template. (if you choose this option, first you should convert adsense ad code)

How to create Google Adsense Account

How to create Google Adsense Account
Google Adsense is the most popular option for monetizing online content, but many bloggers don't know how to create a Google Adsense account. Creating a Adsense account is very easy thing to do and for being accepted you just require a website or a blog indexed by Google, which should contain minimum 10 pages and most important, not violating Google Adsense policies.

Apply Account Approval

You have to create a Google Adsense account before you can be approved.
To do that, go to the Adsense homepage www.google.com/adsense and click on the "Sign up now" red button. Now you must complete the Adsense registration form:

Step 1. Select your Google Account to continue
Step 2. Tell us about your content: enter your main website/blog URL where you want ads to be displayed and then select your website content language.

Read and pay attention to the following Google Adsense policies, because if you break the rules your account might be disabled later. And sadly, you have small chances to get it back...

1. I will not click on my ads nor encourage others to do so.
2. I will not place ads on sites that include adult content, including pornography.
3. I will not place ads on sites involved in the distribution of copyrighted materials.
4. I do not already have a Google AdSense account.

Google adsense optimization tips

adsense, what is google adsense, earn with adsenseWhat is Google Adsense?
Google Adsense is a free program run by Google that allows you to display Google adverts on your blog/website and pays you everytime someone clicks on one of these ads. Just submit your blog to Google for approval and after your content has been approved, you are ready to place Adsense ads on your website. But beware, Google Adsense doesn't approve any sites! According to Adsense policy you are not allowed to do the following things:

1) Do not click on your own Adsense ads by any way.
2) Do not increase Adsense ad impressions with some automating tools.
3) Don’t ask others to click on your ads.
4) Don’t alter the Adsense code other than fonts and colors.
5) Don’t put Adsnese code on adult or prohibited content.

Some basic optimization tips can double your Adsense revenue, so i've added a list of some of the best Google Adsense Tips and Tricks for making more money from the Google Adsense program.

Tips to Increase Google AdSense Earnings

1) Place the Adsense ads above the main fold that user can see your ad units without scrolling down on your site. This will increase your Ads Click Through Rate (CTR)

Because browsers and screen sizes vary, Google has created a nice tool that allows you to enter any URL, and check whether you've implemented your ads above the fold.

2) The best performing ad units for AdSense are:

250×250 Square
160×600 wide skyscraper
336×280 large rectangle
300×250 medium rectangle

Use them wisely. I suggest you to place 250 x 250 size ad units at the top of every post and align it at the right or left side of the post content. The 160×600 ad format can easily fit in the sidebar of your blogger blog.

3) You can use the following “heat map” provided by Google to analyze other top performing ad placement slots. You should concentrate on the areas with darker orange color which represents the hot spots of the ads slots. (see in the image below)

Text ads

4) Text ads are good for the first Google Ad unit. I also recommend you to place a 300×250 unit in the sidebar (or somewhere below the fold) – these generally serve CPM based ads and will help you monetize visits from places like Digg and StumbleUpon.

5) Ads placed in-between the content can also perform well. If you have small posts then put ads at the top of the page content. If you have big post then ad units placed at the bottom or middle of the post.

6) Do not use borders to your text ads or use them wisely.

7) To blend, choose the colors that match with the colors of your website: for example if your site background is black, you will put the same background for your Adsense ads. If your links are blue, then select the color blue for Adsense links. If your titles are red, then make your Adsense block titles red.

8) To complement, use colors that already exist on your site, but don't match the background and borders exactly where the ads are placed.

9) To contrast, choose colors that stand out against the background of your site. Contrasting is recommended only for sites with dark background, so we suggest using an ad style with white background, white borders, and blue titles. (google hints)

10) Use link units near the site navigation bar. The main advantages of this placement, are that they can perform well and you don't need too much Ad space on your site. This way, your site looks clean and also, your visitors will be annoyed.

11) Study your keywords and the target ads to these keywords. Usually, Google Adsense crawler searches for the first or second paragraph to target ads to that page so don't forget to add your page-targeted keywords at the beginning of your post.

12) MFA (made for AdSense) sites are websites created around AdSense keywords, and often, these are poor quality sites with little or no original content. Use Allow and block ads feature to block low paying or irrelevant ads showing on your site. And be careful when you're doing this, sometimes one ad unit can give you $0.01 in one country and $1 in other country.

13) Use Google Adsense ad preview tool to view what ads are showing on your site.

14) Many times you can earn you more adsense revenue from Image search engines than with the regular web traffic. Upload good quality images and use text captions with alt tags to make sure that blog images rank good in Image Search results.

15) Add a search box at the top left region of your blog and use the word "search" in the submit button otherwise visitors might be confused and might not notice it. If you use a second search box, put it at the bottom of your pages.

Add Social Bookmarking Buttons near Adsense Ads

Social Bookmarking
The main advantages of this widget is that you can increase your Adsense impressions along with CTR - and of course, fill up the empty space besides Adsense units, making your blog look more beautiful and professional.

Adding these social bookmarking buttons at the top of your blogger post, will make things easier when your readers will want to share your posts via the networking sites. The widget includes buttons for Del.icio.us, Twitter, Facebook, StumbleUpon, Technorati and Digg.

Steps installing this widget:

1. Login to your Blogger Dashboard, then go to >> Design >> Edit HTML (firstly, make a backup of your template by clicking on the "Download full template" link)

2. Search (CTRL + F) for the following tag in your blogger template:

</b:skin>

3. Then just above it, paste the following CSS code:

.ads{margin-bottom:10px; border-top:solid 1px #DEDEDE; padding-top:10px; font-size:13px;}
.ads-right-min{border-left:solid 1px #DEDEDE; height:250px; padding-left:10px;}
.ads-right-min a:link,
.ads-right-min a:visited,

AdSense optimization tips straight from Google

AdSense optimization
Do you use Google AdSense to monetize your site? Then check out these top 5 optimization tips straight from Google!

Top AdSense Optimization Tips

Whenever we meet with publishers, we hear one question over and over again: “How can I use AdSense more effectively to increase my earnings?” We’ve written up our top tips here and encourage you to experiment with them and see how they impact your earnings. Happy testing!

1. Maximize your AdSense coverage
In order to maximize your earnings, place three AdSense ad units and three link units on each of your pages. The more ads you display, the more opportunities you have for your users to engage with them.

Also, because some ads are paid on a cost-per-impression (CPM) basis, you will often be paid just for displaying the ads, regardless whether a user clicks on them.

2. Place your ads above the fold
Ads that appear higher on the page perform the best. Place your ads so users can see them without scrolling down the page. The more a user has to scroll before finding your ads, the less likely they are to see them and to click on them.

3. Use the best performing ad units
Our advertisers’ preferred ad units are the Leaderboard (728×90), the Medium Rectangle (300×250) and the Wide Skyscraper (160×600). By using these popular ad units, you’ll be tapping into a larger pool of competing ads. More ad inventory leads to more competition in the ad auction and ultimately results in higher RPMs for our publishers.

4. Show text and image ads
Check your ad units and make sure that you’ve opted-in to displaying text and image ads. By diversifying your ads, you’re able to increase the available inventory for your site. With most text ads paid on a cost-per-click (CPC) basis and most image ads paid on a cost-per-impression (CPM) ad, you can let AdSense determine which ads will maximize your earnings.

5. Complement your content with your ads
Your AdSense ads should fit seamlessly within your site to improve your users’ experience. Blend the color of your ads to match the rest of your site and remove the borders around your ad units to help your ads complement your content and enhance your site.

Bonus Tip: Opt-in to Placement Targeting
Set up Custom Channels in your AdSense account and opt-in to Placement Targeting. Placement targeting allows our advertisers to bid on a specific ad or group of ad placements on your site. Advertisers are usually willing to bid more for targeted units.

And that’s it. At the end of the day, it's all about testing your ads and monitoring how they perform for you on your site. Good luck!

Wrap text around Adsense block in left or right corner

Maybe you have wondered how to wrap text around an adsense block. If you have observed, many wordpress blogs have ad units embedded in top left or right corner of the post content:

Adsense block
This Adsense ad unit in top left or right corner have highest CTR on most of the blogs. Adding this ad unit is very simple and requires a bit of code before and after your regular Adsense ad script.

If you want to add a ad unit in top right corner of your post, then just include the following bolded red lines in your ad code:

Your Adsense ad script

If you want to place ad unit at left corner, just change the float tag to "left":

Your Adsense ad script

The most appropriate for this ad placement is 250×250 square ad unit. Placing AdSense unit in the middle of the post, may disturb the reading flow, so i recommend to have ad units at the beginning of the post.

If you have any query adding this ad unit in your blog post, just leave a comment.
